Let Go And Let God
It's a good thing that I have the support and faith because otherwise I would be falling apart right now. My middle guy ~ whose been doing awesome ~ happy, mature, fun to be around, helpful, straight A's and was on his way to receive free tuition next semester is now in the dumps. His gf broke up with him and he's devastated. She was a wonderful influence in him and has brought out the best in him too. Unfortunately, she wasn't getting what he was getting. I'm not sure if it's been his drinking that has effected his relationship but I can only guess on that one.
The other night he didn't come home until early afternoon. After he worked a 11 hour shift (spring break) from his dishwashing job he called to tell us he didn't need a ride home. Instead, after having had a drink or two, he walked a few miles to his girlfriend's place of employment (a restaurant/bar) and had more drinks there until his other friend (who works there too) got off of work. After work she and my son were on the way to another friend's house when they pulled over by the cops. Luckily she was sober but he was plastered and received a citation for open container. A $250 + fine. This offense is in the same category as a garbage picking offense ~ luckily for him. It did shake him up a bit but not enough to realize that he has a problem. Not ready to face the fact that things are falling a part because of his drinking. He doesn't seem to be making the connection yet. I pray for both of my boys that they see that what they're doing isn't working.

These last few years of parenting are sooo long. And so difficult. And we have no idea what\'s waiting at the end of this road.
I guess all we can do is say our prayers and see what else Life throws at these yung\'uns.
And continue to create our own lives that get, hopefully, better, as we go along.
Best to you in your presentation, also. It might be a good thing that the one professional is backing out. you get to bring even more of your best energy to share!
