Let go and Let God
Why am I struggling with this? Trying to parent both my son and my husband is just not working. Yesterday we had it out. It wasn't pleasant. My husband doesn't want our son to go to inpatient. He doesn't feel it will be helpful. No matter what I say - including how my son's drug behavior that's surfaced again affects me- he just won't listen. So am I just going to throw in the towel and let the experts handle it. T's case worker did call my husband and had my husband convinced that treatment is inevitable and necessary, only later did my husband say that he thinks T could still stay in outpatient. The case worker also spilled the beans and told my son that he needs to move to the next level - causing T to explode. He's blaming it on me. He thinks I influenced the case worker. I did give my input, that's true.....and I tried to tell him that it's his behaviors that could move him up. In his mind, I am not supporting him. It hurts but I feel strongly enough about it to not let that influence me. Having said all that..........I am going to Let Go And Let God. I cannot not control my husband anymore than my son. So.....on that note......I have some work to do! And the work has nothing to do about my "boys". **NOTE: T announced yesterday that he is going to be a witness in an attempted murder trial today. In the beginning of the summer, T and about 30 kids witnessed two kids fighting (in our little peaceful bedroom community) causing one to be life flighted because of head injuries. The early part of the summer the juvenile detective came to our home to get T's statement. That meeting was before T got into all this trouble himself with other things. This whole thing (my life) is so surreal. An attempted murder trial? I guess I've lead a very boring life ....so much drama now - due to my son. This too shall pass. Because of this life experience, his brains, his charm, his kindness, his creativity, his personality, after he gets this monkey off of his back and matures......I know he has so much potential. He will blossom. I know he will.
