Lesson learnt the hard way
Last week I must have picked up a bug from one of the kids at school. I had a bit of a cold but I thought there was only three days left until the Easter holidays so I could manage to get through it without taking anytime off sick.
What I didn't count on was how ill I would make myself by not excepting that my body needed that time to recover. Instead of just taking a day or two to rest and recover from a cold. I am now looking at weeks to recover from a chest infection, a kidney infection, fever and conjunctivitis. Which has also made all my normal lupus/cfs symptoms much worse.
Moral of the story: Listen to what your body is telling you!

Kate, I\'m so sorry you got so sick! I know we always forget to factor in that we take longer to heal than healthy people. I just had a tooth extracted in February. I am still suffering from that procedure and the hole it left in my mouth still isn\'t healed over. It really surprised the dentist.
I haven\'t been able to eat much more than liquids for the past month as a result of this, so have been weaker and sicker than usual with my CFS. I ended up on an antibiotic...which started stomach pain...blah, blah....so I\'m STILL suffering from this one little tooth extraction.
I totally understand the moral to your story. I don\'t have to call out sick. (I\'m old! LOL), but if I were your age and in school or working I can see how difficult it must be for you. My heart aches that you are having all these problems now. I\'m so glad you are back here, where your friends can support you! I\'m praying that ALL these symptoms will subside quickly!
