Less than a Week until Surgery
I can't believe surgery day is so close. I have today off. Work 2 nights. Friday is a wash because I worked all night. Then my medical leave starts. Saturday off. Sunday go to mom and dad's. Monday surgery. I have so much to do on the only 2 usable days off I have left that I'm almost frozen in place. All I want to do is deal with my head issues and anxiety, not get the garden and orchards ready for winter. I have to though because I don't think I'll be able to after surgery and there isn't that much time left before freezing nights...meaning frozen hoses and busted pipes.
Darn hospital isn't helping either. I get this letter on Saturday, 8 days before my surgery, saying I have to pay the hospital portion 2 weeks in advance or my surgery will be rescheduled, please call xxx-xxxx to arrange payment. Of course there's already less than 2 weeks until surgery and no one is in the office over the weekend so I call first thing Monday morning. I get an answering machine saying she is out of town until Tuesday, for immediate assistance call this other number. So I call it and get that person's voice mail saying she's temporarily out of the office, for immediate assistance please call the original person...who is, of course, out of town until Tuesday. Going a little bit crazy here!
I left messages with both out of the office ladies and left my home and cell phone numbers on both their voice mails. No one called. It is now 3pm on Tuesday. My surgery is less than 1 week away, I once again left messages on unheard voice mails and no one has called back. I'm afraid to go outside and take care of the hoses in case one of them calls. Frozen in place!
