Less than 9 weeks and BedRest already!
Monday I started having a LOT of cramping. I immediately wondered if my Progesterone levels were low and called my Dr. She said to go on strict bedrest and she'd send a nurse to draw my blood the next day, but there was "NO WAY" my progesterone could be low because I do injections and two suppositories a day. My level 3 weeks ago was 49 (which is very high).
So, I got my result today and it was 17. LOW. By any standard low for almost 9 weeks pregnant, but especially DISMALLY low considering all I am taking in terms of supplements of Progesterone.
So, they said to stay on bedrest and to double my injections and double the suppositories. They faxed in a prescription for the new dose of injections and guess what?!? They cost has skyrocketed from $70/week for us to $10,500/week. NO JOKE!! All because the manufacturer won a Federal right to have exclusivity of production...it can no longer be compounded by your local pharmacies. PIGS! And, they don't want you doing your own injections anymore...a home health nurse is the only way you can do them at home. LUDICROUS!
They DO have a financial aid program, but we read that they make it nearly impossible for people with any kind of insurance to get financial aid. My DH is writing the greedy, disgusting, evil Pharmaceutical company that did this a letter and he is going to CC every legislator we have in our state. He is letting them know that if our baby dies because of this, we will get their heads on a plate....which will not be enough.
This makes me sick.

That is just so horrible. I\'m so sorry that you are having to go through this.
You will be in my prayers.
Wow. I am speechless. First, does your doctor have any idea why your progesterone dropped that significantly? Second, that pharmaceutical company is a NIGHTMARE!!!!! I really don\'t even know what to say about that. I am just SO sorry you are dealing with all of this. I am going to pray extra hard for you and the baby...
I am so sorry buddy! i am right here for you every step of the way! love you !!
Thank you ladies! I am spitting mad that a company could be so full of greed...especially when they know full well this medication saves babies\' lives! How can they live with themselves?!
As far as why my levels are so low, they don\'t know why I\'m not absorbing progesterone like I was, but they ARE worried. I had 5 doctors call me within 1 hr and 1/2. For now, I am not to move and to desperately try to get my progesterone level back up. Ultrasound and recheck on Monday.
Oh no, I am very saddened to read this. I will keep your family in my thoughts!
aw katrina im so sorry you are having to go through this!! Im hoping you will get good news on Monday
The company tried to claim that the rise in cost is justified. That is complete B.S. I have no idea what they are thinking. I\'m SO sorry this has to affect you like this. I sure hope that they will pay for this. Class-action law suit or something. I will keep praying for you and your LO.
I am starting to hate rx companies...
I\'ll keep you in my prayers!!!
Hugs, Love & Rainbows!!!

This is terrible news! I have heard about this injection before and the recent sky rocketing of the price. It\'s absolutely insane! I hope you get some answers and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
hmmm...my progesterone was 17.5 on 12DPO, and they said that was great...that they look for anything over 10. should I be worried?
12 DPO, I was only at a 9, which stirred them into a panic. 17 for 12 DPO sounds good. By now, you should be over 20 for sure. Maybe ask them to check it for you, just to see? If you aren\'t cramping, though, it is probably fine!
