Less than 9 weeks and BedRest already!
Monday I started having a LOT of cramping. I immediately wondered if my Progesterone levels were low and called my Dr. She said to go on strict bedrest and she'd send a nurse to draw my blood the next day, but there was "NO WAY" my progesterone could be low because I do injections and two suppositories a day. My level 3 weeks ago was 49 (which is very high).
So, I got my result today and it was 17. LOW. By any standard low for almost 9 weeks pregnant, but especially DISMALLY low considering all I am taking in terms of supplements of Progesterone.
So, they said to stay on bedrest and to double my injections and double the suppositories. They faxed in a prescription for the new dose of injections and guess what?!? They cost has skyrocketed from $70/week for us to $10,500/week. NO JOKE!! All because the manufacturer won a Federal right to have exclusivity of production...it can no longer be compounded by your local pharmacies. PIGS! And, they don't want you doing your own injections anymore...a home health nurse is the only way you can do them at home. LUDICROUS!
They DO have a financial aid program, but we read that they make it nearly impossible for people with any kind of insurance to get financial aid. My DH is writing the greedy, disgusting, evil Pharmaceutical company that did this a letter and he is going to CC every legislator we have in our state. He is letting them know that if our baby dies because of this, we will get their heads on a plate....which will not be enough.
This makes me sick.
