Less Pain Is A Big Gain!
Saturday, June 21, 2008 – 10:55 A.M. My life has gotten better during the past week, which just goes to show me that I should always expected the unexpected! I always dreaded physical therapy as a child. One of the reasons can be attributed to the fact that I was sexually abused while getting some of the therapy. Upon becoming an adult, I learned the many advantages of therapy. Through the efforts of my physical therapist this week, I have begun to see the positive therapeutic effects it provides. During the two days that I received traction for my severe scoliosis, I noticed a large decrease in the amount of pain I had been sustaining. To my surprise, I started feeling better not only physically, but mentally as well. Extended periods of pain were draining my body of stamina and energy. The pain also increased my depression. The human body, and the way it functions, is still somewhat of a mystery to me. Who would think that a physical disorder could cause a mental impact on a person’s body? Some of the pain has returned this weekend. That does not mean I will have it forever. I am getting more therapy on Tuesday, and I am hopeful that it will cause me to feel as good as it did this week. I have learned something important this week: less pain is a big gain! Quotes for success: "If there is any one axiom that I have tried to live up to in trying to become successful in business, it is the fact that I have tried to surround myself with associates that know more about business than I do. This policy has always been very successful and is still working for me." Monte L. Bean
