Lent update - 30 days in
30 of 46 = 65%
I did break my abstinence around the time when I was granted the interview, but otherwise have kept to it pretty handily, but with some temptation the night I had my prescribed celebratory dinner when I submitted my sample for drug testing.
When I drove by the store on the way home, I wanted to buy a bottle to continue the celebration into the night, but successfully resisted it, being outside my prescribed celebratory scope.
On reflection, I think my Lenten experience is teaching me that though God would prefer us not to screw up, He knows that we are weak and fallible creatures, and being the loving Father that he is, is always waiting with open ears to hear and answer compassionately our petitions for grace, which grace is dispensed liberally on request for any and all His beloved children who would humble themselves to ask.

Oh, yes - of course he is always the source of my temptations, and hell-bent to encourage my failure, but my course is to overcome his ploys preferably before the fact, during the act or after the fact, by whatever righteous means necessary. :)
