Leaving school
Okay, so now it's soon time for me to leave school and go to college. The time has almost arrived. But before that, I've got exams......I'll cope with them but there's a few other things bothering me. Before we leave, we always have a fancy dress party then a prom. The fancy dress party's going to be hell. It's on the 23rd may. I still don't have a costume and whatever I DO go as, someone's gonna have some snide comments about it. I know it shoulsn't bother me, but my self-esteem is just way too low for that kind of thing. I kinda feel I don't want to go, but I've promised a gay guy at my school I would. Then the prom's on 4th July (A big day for the Americans too). I have to hire a suit and also need to find if someone's got a space in a limo and I'll chip in to the cost. The prom's made out to be such a big issue. It can handle the costs, but it's just generally I don't want to go to that either. But then A girl made me promise to go.....then another girl asked if She could go with me. That's when I felt like I'd just sold my soul to the devil. Only a matter of a month and a few weeks to go and I have to make myself look like a prat two more times. That's just great.

You\'re not going to make yourself look like a prat, remember you\'re not the only person going to the fancy dress party or the prom. Go to the fancy dress party with something simple, it doesn\'t have to be anything extravagent or expensive, fancy dresses generally do attract laughter but if someone passes a snide remark just give it back to them, say something like \"have you looked at yourself in a mirror lately?!?!\"
Don\'t let anyone put you off, you\'re entitled to be happy and enjoy yourself at these things just like everyone else is. I know I went through the same with self-esteem and do know it definitely is not easy but you just have to get out there and do it, you will get through it.
For the prom get everything sorted out sooner rather than later and then that will be one less worry off your shoulders, I know there are quite a few things to organise but it is possible.
