Leave yourself Alone
Well it's wednesday, and that means I've made it to work EVERY DAY for a week and 1/2 so far. Day Eight with no Effexor. Still feeling like I have a headache and dizziness, but not as bad as before. Last night I went for a jog after work and felt the brain "ZAPS" quite a bit afterwards. I went to see my family doc and psychiatrist yesterday. Family doc said 1-2 more weeks till all the withdrawl effects are over, psychiatrist said another week or so.
This is the longest I've gone since I've started the drug (4.5 years ago) without since I've started. I never realized how gnarly this drug is. I will NEVER take it again, and would only suggest anyone else try the other stuff that has less withdrawl problems associated with it if you ever decide to go on anything.
Anxiety is still bugging me, so is my depression a bit. I'm just pissed because I just want my old life back. Want to be able to hop on the motorcycle and ride, hit up a yoga class, travel, go to hawaii. I know it's a slow process and either way I will make it there.
My councilor told me I just have to stop trying to figure it out, and that is my major source of anxiety, trying to fix this problem, that with the correct thought process, relaxation, etc...I will overcome it in time, but I have to stop obsessing over it. Stop trying to figure it out. My brain is looking for an answer it doesn't have, thus perpetuating my anxiety. If I leave it alone for a while it will go away eventually.
Well, I'm giving this approach a few weeks, and if that doesn't work, it's back to the med merry go round.
