Learning and Growing
I have learned that it is easier to cut out drinking entirely than it is to just have one drink.
However, I can have a "dry" day, followed by a day of moderation, followed by another "dry" day, as long as I am completely committed to that course of action.
I am also beginning to feel (it's just dawning on me) that all this planning and thinking and wondering is just dragging me down. I could use all the energy I spend on thinking about drinking, and do something WAY more productive.
That's as far as I've gotten.

I think your thinking is on the right track. Exactly what is the positive result achieved by the \"moderate\" days, and how much more positive could ALL the days be without alcohol?
There was a time when I did not drink at all and I was the happiest and in the best shape of my life. Not sure how I went of the rails...
Have you read Carr\'s \"Easy Way to Stop Drinking?\" I don\'t know that it is an answer in itself, but it would reinforce the revelation you are having.
Oh, just saw this is an old entry. Oh well, same goes!
