Learn what to eat and not to eat when on a Keto Diet Plan
There are some foods or food ingredients that you should avoid when you are on a Keto Meal Plan. The foods that you should avoid are those rich in carbohydrates or too rich in protein. When you eat food like that, it will defeat the purpose of going on a keto diet. Once this happens, it will take a longer time to get the desired result you want. It can also pose some health risk to your body. This is because when you go on a keto diet, your body will automatically adjust to new process you are putting it through. The body will jerk or resort to a process known as ketosis. Now when you go back or take meals that are rich in carbs, it may disrupt this process and pose health (metabolic) risks.
Examples of food that you should avoid or restrict their intake are starchy vegetables like peas, Irish potatoes and sweet potatoes; grains like wheat, rice, oat, sorghum; pasta like spaghetti and macaroni; sugary food like ice cream, syrup, candy; beans and legume should also be avoided or restricted when you are on a Keto Diet Plan. Lastly, avoid beer and mixed drinks that are sugary in nature. The foods listed above are highly rich in carbs. On the other hand, there are some foods that you should welcome when you are on a ketogenic diet. Examples are eggs, chicken and turkey meat, nut butter, avocados, full-fat dairy products and full-fat cheese, vegetables like greens, tomato, pepper that are non-starchy in nature can be taken.
Even though fatty foods are advised for a Keto Diet Menu. That does not mean that you can include just any fatty food into your meal. Avoid unhealthy fats like margarine and oils like corn and canola oil. Processed meat like hot dogs and processed food should be avoided. Lastly, food containing sweeteners and artificial color should be avoided.
