Learn Dancing, Singing All Together!

EXPG HIGH SCHOOL is a school which offers opportunities and options to students, dancers, artists and friends who share the same dreams and goals. Yusei Tekoe is a freestyle dancer born from a Nigerian father and Japanese mother. After graduating high school, he took dancing more seriously and started to explore various style. He works as a backup dancer, illusion show assistant and has appeared in numerous television commercials.
For those with Japanese language skills, filling out an online application for a trial lesson before visiting the studio in person will only cost a little more than a thousand yen. It might be possible to request a trial lesson in person, but not every receptionist speaks English. If aiming to really hone your dance skills while staying in Japan, En has a nice set of class packages ranging from four classes, eight classes, to “all you can dance for a week” at either one of the studios starting from about ¥10000.



Kazuo held the first recital in 1949 at Kanda Kyoritsu Hall in Tokyo when he was 43 years old. As soon as returning from New Guinea, where he was a prisoner of war for a year, Kazuo resumed dancing. The experience of the war made him dance "Jellyfish dance" in one of his recitals in 1950s. On returning from New Guinea, he saw jellyfishes in the sea where those who died on board by hunger and diseases were buried.
As the pioneer in the Japanese music education, we are responsible for looking beyond the future and to open up the possibilities for our students. Led by choreographer Yumiko WATANABE, DRAMATIC WORKS is a borderless dance entertainment unit composed of dancers from different fields that focuses mainly on staging performances. The venue, Kannai Hall, was dramatically transformed with a stage specially built for the show. The low-set stage provided the audience with an intimate, up-close experience of the performance delivered by the six (“sita” in Swahili) dancers and nine musicians led by Nakamura. The creative dancing, dramatic flair, and glamorous vision of the group’s previous production, “SALTY LOVE”, were taken to the next level and combined with original music in a presentation that exhilarated the audience. Taking a single class will set you back ¥3000 yen, but various offers are available for both first timers and more avid dancers.

Kobayashi Ballet Theatre and Yasuo ATSUJI of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Together with his wife and dance partner Nao SAKUMA, ATSUJI also delivered the Japan premiere of the dramatic pas de deux of “Spartacus”, recently choreographed by David Bintley, one of the UK’s leading creators in narrative ballet. Also included was a breathtaking solo from Béjart’s “M” by Shoma IKEMOTO, as well as the refined movements of Rena NARUMI and Kenta KOJIRI in “A Picture of You Falling” from cutting-edge choreographer Crystal Pite.
The Judgement of the regional division will be held by members of JCTA, Japan Cable Cast, NPO Regional Industry Promotion Association and NPO eigakoushien. There are the free division and the regulated division in the work to be submitted, and the free division is always set every year, but the content of the regulated division may change depending on the year. As a festival, TCF brings people together to generate exchanges, innovation and creativity; and transform the way we relate to each other. A fully equipped digital recording studio with three separate recording booths designed to match professional studio environment. Youth Theater Japan has native English speaking staff, but lessons are not only done in English. We use the approach of practicing many English phrases and memorizing English songs in order to familiarize our members with English.

As one of the most significant Butoh performers, Ohno has toured throughout Europe, North and South America, Australia and Asia. He has performed in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, France, Spain, Denmark, Poland, Canada and the United States. Many students have come to study under him from all over the world. When Kazuo was at junior high school, he was sent to one of his relatives, Shiraishi, in Akita prefecture to live with them.

Choreographed by Maurice Béjart, brought their excitement 社交ダンス  to a crescendo with the principal’s mesmerizing dance on a round red table and the vivacious energy imparted by Maurice Ravel’s score. Both nights closed their passionate performances to seemingly endless applause.
The event closed with a surprise performance of the finale of “The Firebird” (Béjart) by all of the dancers. The sensational program left the audience wishing that it had been held for more than one showing. In addition to presenting innovative contemporary dance, Dance Dance Dance @ YOKOHAMA 2021 also provided opportunities to experience the world of old-school classical ballet. One of these was the Tokyo Ballet’s full performance of a work synonymous with classical ballet, “Swan Lake”.
