Leap Thoughts

This week has been busy, but not overwhelming. I'm even able to get in some genealogy!

Some good things lately: my daughter will finally be volunteering at the local aquarium. It's all part of her career goals to be a marine biologist, so that'll be really great for her on many levels. My son, in spite of his lack of performance in school, is almost on track where he should be for graduation credits. There's just one administrative thing to be taken care of, and if he passes English this year (and subsequently summer school), all he has to do is pass his classes next year. Hmm...if he does that, maybe we should have a party! (or at the very least, a good drink for me!)

Church is going status quo. Not sure which direction I should be going at this time. One of the deacons had left; his wife started going to another church months before & they were also having marital problems, so he decided they needed to be going to church together & therefore left our church. Sometimes other subtle things happen, changes are made & no one is quite sure who exactly is making the master decisions. That does not leave me feeling entirely comfortable. And yet there's still the voice in me that says, "Wait & see." So that's what I'll do for now.

My husband will be re-starting his job next week. How long it'll last this season, who knows. It seems that business has been dropping off. But once that's done, I suppose he'll file for unemployment again, which is better than nothing.

As far as me personally, I'm really trying to be more aware of my motives in what I do (or don't do). Although there really hasn't been an occasion for it, I need to be more aware & ready for times I may need to "speak up", because my default is to "shut up" instead (and of course there is a time for each). I'm also starting to entertain the thoughts: what do I want--from my marriage, from my free time, etc. I think I need to be more purposeful on those, however.
