LDS Temple Marriage/Divorce
I was Married in the Salt Lake temple in 78. We believe we are sealed for time and all eternity. I was "legally" divorced in 88. I am still married by a covenant made to my ex. My ex can marry another woman without dissolving the temple ordinance of the our marriage even if he is sealed to me. So is any of this confusing??? I really didn't think about it until I saw him the other day opening up a lot of feelings. Here is some more. I can't have a temple cancellation unless I find someone to marry in the temple and that isn't going to happen in this life time. So should I fight for a cancellation? Does any of this make sense? Let me know what you think.

I think you should fight for cancellation. If a man can do it, a woman should be able too. Are you still LDS?
Yes I am and to do so letters have to be written from a bishop up to the church presidency.
Not a good idea. I have a temple marriage also being divorced civilly. I wouldn\'t dare get a temple divorced without the man of my choice taking my ex\'s place of the sealing. Don\'t get me wrong; my ex and I don\'t love each other. If I prove myself to be worthy while being mortal, The Lord will work it out for me to carry the sealing over to the other man of my choice . I believe that what is sealed here on Earth will be sealed in Heaven. Much of The Lord\'s work will be done on Earth during the Millennium.
forgot to say: It sounds like you may have it somewhat confused if I understood right. The work in the temples are done also for married deceased couples who have died on Earth that didn\'t have a sealing. A person who has died is sealed to all of their spouses so that person who died will have a chance to be sealed to the spouse of their choice.
Even the children are Sealed to their parents (who have been sealed) to have claim of them in Heaven.
Opps forgot to say that no one is forced to accept the temple ordinances; but God commanded the LDS to do the work/ordinances for all people so they have the option to accept or reject the ordinances.
