Lawsuit Lotto III

As with the sibs, et al, who have played lawsuit lotto with me, I stand ready to walk away in refusal to let children become pawns in these ego games. It is considerable harder with orphaned grandchildren, but still I stand ready. Let the other grandfather and his cohorts have their new macho wagon and more padding for their ample waistlines. Am I comforted that this time I have 4 counties worth of child protective services who don't want to yet another group of siblings under the wings of this wisdom? The wisdom is more prevalant among EB's (Empowered Barbies), but the logic is EEO in today's entitlement logic. Boys play too. Even the ones on geriatric life support.

This morning finds me still attacking the old fool and his middle aged children of many divorces. When I derail those attacks, another target steps out of the Lawsuit Lotto Puppet Show to become the new target. That particular puppet show is especially large and noisy. Ours is a sue-you-sue-me culture, after all.

Hubs and I just invested a substantial portion of our retirement savings in the housing upgrade for a family of six. It is one hell of a leap of faith with a lawsuit lotto jackal pack howling after "Our Great Wealth," but. . . I hope I'm hearing The Gnarly Old Dickhead right through the mental chaos. Prayers in progress. . .

Today's distraction is a drive into the nearby metroplex to see the house of the new cousin (Hubby's cousin) and perhaps attend a street festival downtown. We are still skeptical of the festival. Even in mythical cowboy land, parking for a vehicle big enough to hold 3 child safety seats is an iffy proposition in any metroplex. GS is far more excited about having a cousin to visit, even one older than his Gammy.

We still donae know who the sixth family member will be, if the ifs continue coming into alignment but we know at least one is needed and we have prepared a space, just in case there is a younger adult out there who is more adult than child and not already overworked from trying to pick up the slack left by the young-at-heart majority.

Just praying. . .

Enjoy the festival. I hate attorneys...when attornys are involved they are the only ones benefiting by stretching out painful legal battles to collect as much as they can.

I believe I caught myself wearing crocodile tears during a huge crying jag over the scenario where the other branch of the family tree *wins* and we need to grieve the loss of our grandchildren as well as the loss of our son. I love these children dearly and hate to think of them lost in the foster system, buttttttttaaaaa. . .

This is a HUGE responsibility we are taking on and I donae have a lawsuit lotto player's faith in public assistance nor frivolous windfall's. Such dollars always look bigger coming than going. Yo, moron, the math isn't that hard. . . There is a huge piece of me that would be relieved to hand all that responsibility to an old fool in search of pay dirt. Well. . . The old fool is only in charge. Still, the minions who do the actual work are letting him speak for them. I don't have much choice but to take them at his word. I'm not sure a sock in his mouth would be enough to shut him up.

Praying my ABC's. . .

Sigh. . .

Q: What do you call 2,000 lawyers tied together at the bottom of the ocean?
A: A good start.

The street fair was okay. A bit crowded for my social anxiety and a bit high brow for children, but the visit with extended family was great.
