Lawsuit Lotto II
The other grandfather's lawyer *won* his day in court today. No immunization for Big Sis. No school for her until she is old enough for the public schools. I am haunted by visions of them waddling through the morbidly obese inheritance the other grandfather wants for them. Are there extra inheritances in store for the granddaughter who looks like a gringuita? As with the sisters and nieces who have targeted me in their lawsuit lotto games, I believe it is far more loving to let the children go than to let them be used them as pawns in this hideous game. Enjoy your *victory* my conquering hero. So I believe here as well, but it hurts like a grandfather fuck.
For now, I am only panicking. The case will be revisited in six months. So far as the caseworker knows, the current custody arrangement will stand until then. Immunizations still blocked by court order. I am guessing that the other grandfather is still getting the foster care checks for the children. We havenae seen any and havenae gotten around to asking that score. I rather hope he is and will continue to do so. Perhaps he and his clan will use the proceeds to eat themselves to death. Can I send you gift cards to your favorite all-you-can-eat buffets?

The ABC prayer ushered in a restorative sleep but it didnae take long for the venom to resume its cycling in my battered brain. The other grandfather is far from the only player in that freak show. The flashback series is intense. During the start of this drama series, the other grandfather started each of the visitation pickups with a Latino market style negotiation on how much we should pay for the time with our grandchildren. By the time his negotiation style nearly derailed Christmas, he was getting the hint that we were neither amused nor amenable to lining his greedy pockets. Will that stomach turning exchange resume now that he is *A Winner?"
How tragic is it that he isnae the only player in that freak show, either? How do you spell "Kiddie Whorehouse?"

Today's official visitor was here to help us ? ? ? The update on the deaths of the dysfunctional parents changed the dialogue considerable, but I commend the young woman on the rapid lane change, alongside the psycho shift of dealing with a grieving family rather than the parents of misbehaving children. There are currently three or four counties involved in the case and ? ? ? Insert words of preference here. . . 'Tisnae a surprise nor a discredit that she was out of the loop for that pesky detail I know she left us the paperwork with all the legalese attached. I'll translate that to people-ese later. For now all I can register is that it was the pot of gold the other grandfather is gunning for. All the other lawsuit lotto players on my family tree would have been playing it to the max. I nearly started running for my Fort Defiance refuge to escape the clatter in my head and the dialogue on the table. Fort Defiance is far from the loveliest state park I have visited, but it carries a deep symbology in my broken life, The awesome power beneath the subtle surface of that mighty river confluence are the heart and soul of my River Dreams. The great campsites are nearby, as is my "Pirate's Den."
Hubs was in top form, though. He has been remarkably patient in holding his NPR commentary to a minimum while I got white trash grody on my real life experiences with family lawsuits with all the traumatic digressions attached to these Pyrrhic victories. Both he and the official visitor respected my impaired condition while they took care of business. Thank you. I think. Do my name and autograph really have to go on those forms? In you I trust, as best I can today. I'd rather gather and recycle aluminum cans. . . I really don't want money from that pot of gold in my pockets. I have to put my hands in those pockets. Still, desperate times call for desperate measures. Our retirement planning didnae plan for another round of braces and college tuition for 3.
The supplier chain fell through on the housing upgrade we had on order. When it rains, it pours. . .Hubs and I are feeling a bit frantic about the need for a house that can be baby proofed and has a toilet that isnae in danger of falling through the floor. That list of pesky details is longer than we care to tackle right now. The pesky detail list for the housing upgrade is considerable, as well, but bureaucratic portion of that list shouldnae change with a new supplier network. Just praying? ? ?
The shop for another mobile home may even have been medicinal yesterday afternoon. The girls loved crawling around the model houses and big brother enjoyed the updates after school last night. He didnae even seem miffed that he missed the adventure. Prayers in progress that this one carries through. Aesthetics unimportant. Does the floor under the toilet sag? What's the turnaround time?
After the official visitor left, Hubs and I decided to push the go button on one of the mobile homes we looked at. The girls jumped on that wagon with joy. Projected move in: mid to late November. Prayers in progress. . .
As many supportive hugs as you can handle.
