Latest on the water crisis, taxes, and stuff

When the insurance adjuster called today, she had spoken to the well guy but not the plumber. The plumbers are finished, but the well guy left thinking that the plumbers were going to fix the underground pipe issue, but the plumbers had told me that they don't do that which is why I called the well guy in the first place. Well, no pun intended, I called the plumbers and let them know that they had to fax the bill to the insurance adjuster, then I called the well guy and told him that I needed him to do the well stuff, and gave him the information to fax the estimate over to the insurance adjuster, as well. That's alot of wells, but seriously, they are going to get started as soon as the well guy can arrange it. Apparently, they can actually dig up even with 4 feet of snow and permafrost in the way.  Hopefully, the problem is close to the house, so there won't be too much distriction - the yard will never be the same. I do hope that they don't have to dig out my strawberries (they did very well this year, and expanded quite nicely), but even that I can live without in exchange for water. Even brushing your teeth is a project! I had to haul buckets to do laundry, but it is done. I also got some more wood chopped up in case I need to light the wood stove.  Very busy day - running a bit on nerves (the only time that this comes in handy!). I also did my schedule C and form 8829 today, and guess what? My allowable expenses exactly (to the penny) match my gross income. I've gone over the figures 4 times, and it is amazing. The entire year of working 50 to 60 hours per week and I broke even. I suppose it could be worse - I could have lost money again (like last year), but that's the way it goes. I'll have the taxes done soon, and should get back about $15 from what was withheld from the $405 in earnings from my part time job, which is sort of fun, in a bizarre way. All I would need is about 8 more jobs like that and I'll be able to reach the poverty level. Yea, me!
