Late Train
Today I got up at 6:30 am to get on the train. That didn't go too well for a couple of reasons. One, I had a horrible night's sleep and was up from 11pm until after 2am. Second, the train was running late.... like 4 hours late. So I called up Amtrak and they were gracious enough to offer me a ticket on the next train, the one that goes straight to Miami. It was a more expensive ticket by $15, but they offered it to me since I was already at the train station and ready to go. I now know to check to see if the train is running on time before I leave my mom's. From Miami it's not that big of a problem, since it's the first stop and the train can only run late from there. From the town where my mom lives, it's in the middle of the tracks, so you have to check whether the train is on time or not.
I got a salad yesterday at WalMart, and it killed my stomach today. That, or it was the country fried steak from last night. Either way, I'm in pain. My stomach is killing me, and I have gas. It's so embarrassing, farting on the train over and over. I can't help it though, and I don't want to spend all my time locked in the bathroom. I also managed to spill my salad dressing on the floor, so that was great, too. Next time I'm just going to take a sandwich or something, something that can't spill and make a mess. I'm also doing horrible acid burps, something that tastes like I'm throwing up in my mouth. I guess I should have been prepared for this, since when I woke up at 11 at night I was throwing up in my mouth a bit. I guess it wasn't the salad that set me off, it was dinner last night. Dinner was yummy the first time, but I don't need a second round.
Overall, I'm happy with my trip. My mom and I got to spend a bunch of time together, and it was good for me to be there in her time of need. She was saying how she doesn't feel appreciated up there, and I understand. Her husband does the best he can, though, and that's a good thing. If he didn't support her, I'd kick his butt. He would then proceed to kick mine thoroughly, but at least I would have defended my mom. I really wouldn't kick his butt, and he wouldn't kick mine, but you know what I mean. My mom and I got to spend some quality time together, won some money at the internet cafe (they are really places where you can go play slots online and you can win money, or internet time), and cleaned a bit together. I did the dishes a couple nights when I was there, and then there was Friday when I was helping clean a bit.
Last night I also talked to my stepdad a bit... He's doing well. He wanted to know how my mom was doing.. it's nice to know he still cares about her after all these years. My mom has made some pretty wise decisions in her choice of men for the most part... my dad was an amazing man, my stepdad as well, and my mom's current husband now that he's calmed down is a good guy. He was a bit feisty at first, but he mellowed out when he stopped the major drugs. Yeah, he did drugs, that's his bad side. Bur that part of his life is over and done with (I sure hope... it seems that way). Anyway, my stepdad was telling me he still wants to pay for me to come out there in January, and I will try my best to. All I have to do is get it cleared with work. I guess I should tell my bosses on Monday when I go in my holiday plans, that way it's not so last minute. I didn't plan on going on this trip, it was sprung on me at the last minute, so I had no choice but to let my bosses know at the last minute. From now on, I'm going to let them know ahead of time so I don't get in trouble.
Food today... well, I don't know. I haven't done my calories yet, but I should be in my range. I had coffee, a doughnut and some cereal for breakfast, the salad for lunch, ramen for a snack and I will have my regular dinner when I get home. I'm excited... I'm about 2 hours away from getting off the Amtrak, and then I have to do the whole train to cab thing again.... but it's worth it to go home and see my Geo and Angela. I've missed them so much! Especially with all the stuff going on with my mom and Lola (her dog), I've been missing Angela and just want to snuggle with her if she lets me. Stress today was moderate, with the train being late and all, and sleep last night was just horrid. Overall, though, mood is good, looking forward to being home with my loved ones!
