Last Week-----Very Trying

Here is a bit of what my week amounted to. last week.
Monday, I went to the local nursing home as I usually do on Mondays.  Monday afternoon, I met with the family who lost the little 1yr. old girl.  We went to the funeral home for a private viewing.  I stayed with them till they left the funeral home.  I then went to my Lion's Club meeting.
Tuesday, I went to the local spring and got 18 gal of water.  I then went to a nursing home about 45 miles from where I live and did a piano concert.  I then came home., changed clothes and went to the funeral home for the visitation from 5 pm to 8pm.
Wednesday, I went to the funeral home at the 10 am visitation then, I preached the funeral message at 11 am. We went to the cemetery for the burial service then, back to my church where we fed the family dinner.
Thursday. I went to the eye Dr. for an eye exam. then came home to study for Sunday's Sunday School lesson and prepare a Sunday Worship message.  Thursday evening, the mother and dad of the little 1 yr. old girl, came by the house and stayed for about 1-1/2 hrs.  After they left, I went to visit another couple that attend our church.  Got home about 10pm.
Friday, I drove about 50 miles to where my daughter lives, did some odd jobs for her, then went and cleaned 2 businesses and got home around 10 pm.  Had a phone message on my answering machine that the mother of the 1 yr. old had been arrested and taken to jail.  I called the grand-mother and visited with her to get the details.
Sat. morning, I drove to the county jail, waited an hour and finally got to visit with the mother of the little girl.  They arrested her for child endangerment.  She was very scared and rightfully so.  I spent about and hour with her then, came home to rest. I then called her family and told them that I had been to the jail and that her court hearing was set for 10am Mon. morning.
Sunday, I got up, went to the church, turned the heat on, got everything ready, taught my Sunday Scbool class and then preached my Sunday message.  I came home and tried to rest again but, received numerous phone calls. I then did my CD Ministry work for about and hour or so then, went to bed.
Monday,(Yesterday)  I went back to the county courthouse and set for an hour till her case was called before the judge.  Her lawyer could not be there and her case was continued till tomorrow morning at 11 am so, tomorrow, I head back to the court house again.
Is it any wonder that my nerves are a bit frayed and that I have been a bit on edge for over a week?
When I am working hard to help people, extend my love and compassion for them, I get a bit testy when people go off on me for some reason.  When this happens, instead of getting mad, I just back away and try to refocus on things at hand.   Years ago, I would have unloaded like a 2 dollar suitcase but, I don't do those things anymore.  The "Good Book" says that he that controls his temper is greater than he who conquers a city so, I have taught myself to withdraw, regroup and reconsider things.  This is best for all concerned.

Wow! and I thought I had a full life! You sent me a message a while back and I never answered it. It wasn\'t because I didn\'t care. I just wasn\'t on DS for a couple weeks. Anyway, I wanted to thank you so very much for your encouragement. As for all the great stuff you do, have done, will do in the future -you know who\'s paying attention. Keep up the good work, and just when you think it is going unnoticed -somebody notices! Hugs, ~Estel
