last treatment

We go today for the last radiation treatment.  Overall he has done very well except for the days I overdosed him!  He is weak and has not done much of anything the last few days.  Its hard to see him that way,  my big ole strong husband.
Yesterday was a day of damage in our comunity,  a strom came thru and trees toppled and homes were damaged or destroyed.  Cars were cut in half by the trees.  The weather service declared we had no tornado but we had a HUGE oak to fall beside the house. That oak was probably over 75-100 years old.  Steve looked out and said to me " Wanda  please make this go away. That is so unlike him. " I thought of the men at church or at his lodge and about an hour later our neighbor called and said "don't worry about that tree,  we will get it up for you".   I could have cried!  A hour or so later a member of his Mason lodge came by and said  "we are going to take care of the tree for you".  We are so blessed to have a caring community.  I thank God for that and I thank God for all of you.
I need to get dressed for Charlotte.  I pray that all of you will have a good day.
Hugs to all of you,
Wanda

Dearest Wanda, I\'m glad it is the last treatment for Steve. He will start to feel better soon and by the time you get the results of all this radiation, his spirits will be soaring. That is my prayer and hope. I heard about the storms in your area and wondered how you did. It is heartwarming to hear about the help you will be getting from the community for that downed tree. I\'m sure that will help Steve\'s spirit just to know that so many kind people are out there to help. All my love to you both. Linda

Oh dear Wanda you must be so glad to be seeing the back of these treatments. Lots of love and hugs to you and Steve. Let\'s hope that now he can just concentrate on regaining his strength and getting back to his old self. I\'m so pleased that you\'ve got a lovely community to call upon, and that you don\'t need to ask, either. Sometimes it\'s good when people just take the initiative and do things, isn\'t it?
A new chapter is starting now - all my prayers for you both that it\'s a good one,
my love, Meriel

Hi Sweetie!

Praise God that this will be Steve\'s last treatment! I can only imagine how happy y\'all will be to have this behind you. That trip back and forth to Charlotte must be very stressful. I truly believe that Steve will get over the terrible fatigue and have many years to enjoy life.

Hate to hear about that gorgeous tree coming down. What wonderful friends to come and clean it up. Friends are such a gift. There was a good deal of damage in SC from that same storm front. We had a tree come down, but it only hit our fence and plants in a border. It could have easily hit the house, so we were fortunate.

Safe travel, my dear friend.

Huge Hugs,
Ingrid

Dear Wanda,
The only bright side of this insidious disease and all that goes with it, is how it brings out the GOOD in so many others. Folks want to help, and they sure do come through in your time of need, don\'t they? Glad Steve is making some progress toward the goal of zapping the nasties. It is so HARD to see our strong men struggle. Please God better days ahead?!

Wanda
I am glad to hear that the treatments are over and now the healing begans. I hope that these treatment were just what Steve needed to get back to being your \"big ole strong husband\". The storm came through here around 2 am and knocked at the electricty for a couple of hours but no other damage. It sure is dark when the entire town is without electricity. I found out that my cell phone makes a great flashlight. Tricia

Wanda..I am so happy to hear Steve had his last treatment...he will gain his strength back...I am so happy the tree didn\'t hit your house...I know how difficult it is to watch a strong man weaken...it\'s harder on them than you...life can be so cruel ...thinking of you...love, Ellen

Hi Wanda,

it\'s so good to hear that Steve is done with the radiation, i hear that just zaps any amount of strength out of people.. So now your dear Steve can regain more strength and with alot of hope and prayers he will start to feel better.. Did you make an app with your pcp about your hair loss ?? I know how tired and stressed you are and stress does a number on a caregiver, but you also make sure you do make an app, if you haven\'t it could be that your anemic from not eating and resting enough..
What a terrible storm you got, i talked to Ingrid and she said they got a horrible storm too.. But knowing you have wonderful people in your life that are so willing to help is such a wonderful thing.. when i read that it made me happy to know that you and Steve are being taken care of.. I hope everything starts to lighten up for you God knows you both deserve this, some peace time..
