Last?

Yesterday started on an intense note in the in-law house. Lots of groaning muscles in all parties. Even GS. He was a mobile oil slick by the time I dragged him to the "rain bath" (shower) on Friday night. His three-year-old curiosity was not slowed by his muscle complaints as we resumed loading the truck. It was decided GS and I would do the advance guard on the job site while hubs and sons finished loading. GS slept for most of the drive and was asleep on the queen-sized air mattress with his flashlight by 6:30. His toddler weight had flattened the air mattress by 7. He didn't notice the flattened air mattress anywhere near as much as my aching muscles did.

I was sleeping to soundly to notice when hubs and YS/Daddy came in. ES is supposed to follow later today with a ride home for hubs, YS and son. Hubs was laying under the conference table in a sleeping bag and Daddy was playing on the computer when GS woke me for his first bed-wetting event of the night. I am not sure what time it was, nor how long it took me to change the wet clothes and hand the amazed toddler over to daddy. I stumbled out here to the bed in the garage and unzipped my sleeping bag without waking up enough to care what time it was.

As went in to do my morning toilet and make my coffee this morning, Daddy and son were asleep in the office, Daddy on the twin air mattress and son on the floor beside him. I didn't see hubs. I assumed he was on the flattened air mattress, beneath the quilts GS and I had abandoned.

And so begins another day. Time to make my third cup of coffee. . . Life willing, we will be able to return the rented truck this afternoon and be done with this step of of many steps. I am one tired granny. . .

Exhausted as all of us are, hubs, YS and I got the house stuff unloaded with fair efficiency this morning. ES arrived while we were in town having lunch. He and hubs just drove the moving truck up to the big barn to unload the last pieces. Still quite a bit of unpacking to be done, but that can move at a calmer pace.

It feels unspeakably good to have this part behind us.
