Lamp
I lost an old friend today, my floor lamp. It just got to the point that it wasn't as useful as it had been. The big 3-way switch that brought up to 300 watts stopped working months ago. And now, the three small lights below it are shorting out. They were so handy. If I wanted a romantic mood, I could put three candle lights in and use 1, 2, or 3 of them at a time. If I wanted mood lights, I'd put a couple of small red lights and a blue in it. That made for some great color and with all red, could make for a creepy atmosphere at Halloween. But three small white lights made for good T.V. viewing, using only one of them. Why so much for a floor lamp? Well, I've had it for about 30 years. It's traveled to 6 apartments, my mom's house, and now this house. It's like a constant in my travels. It was old when I got it, another hand me down from whom, I can't remember. It was replaced today with a smaller, more modern lamp. It's not as versatile and will take some getting used to. I will miss that old lamp. Do they bury lamps?

No way, don\'t bury it. Lamps can be easily repaired and for usually cheaper than a new one. Can\'t say for sure, but I\'d be surprised if the parts were more than $25.

I\'d love to save the lamp, guardian, but it\'s a complicated wiring system. The big bulb is a 3-way 100-200-300 watt with a mogul base. The three small lights light 1, 2, or 3 in a pattern. It seems it needs rewiring and I haven\'t done that since I was in high school and I doubt I can find someone that would do it for $20 which is what I paid for the new light.
I would still hold onto the lamp. Boy, now days, things are not made like they use to be made, you know quality and to last. Hugs to you and hope you put the light up!
