Laid off, broken up

In late June, I was laid off unexpectedly. Two weeks ago, I was unexpectedly broken up with after almost 3 years. The last few months have been a struggle, and the last few weeks even more so.

Ultimately, it's left me with few friends and only really my dad and sister for support (my mom died unexpectedly 7 years ago). In the beginning, it was ok. They listened, and we're genuinely supportive, but lately it's been almost the opposite with my dad. Last night was particularly bad.

He's been a little pushy about me just finding a job anywhere in the country and just moving away. He says this as if finding a job anywhere makes it easy, and that moving and leaving everything behind doesn't matter. "What do you have there, anyway?" he'll ask. (Hint: More than what I'd have in a new city where I know no one.) And despite me explaining that, he doesn't seem to get it.

He's also been super pushy about me figuring out what the hell is wrong with unemployment in the state I live in. A system currently overloaded but paying out correctly for most people. Unfortunately I'm not one of those people.

I filed in June, and although I'm active in the system and still filing every week, I haven't received a single payment. I've sent emails, called different numbers, spoken with agents over phone and in chat, and no luck. No one can tell me what's happening or what's wrong.

After explaining both of those things for about the 20th time last night (and being in clear distress over the situation), he got angry.

It began with job talk, him acting like getting a new job is so easy and I just need to take whatever wherever and move away if that's what they want because "what do I even have there" (gee, thanks). I've worked a decade in my field, along with having a degree. Those are the jobs I'm looking for and applying to every. single. day.

Then he followed that up with telling me I'm not doing enough or taking responsibility for fixing my unemployment payment issues when I've literally called every number and sent multiple emails, spoken with numerous agents and have gotten nowhere. (And I reminded him I was going to drive down to the stupid office.)

When I got frustrated and upset with him saying those things he hung up on me.

It's like he doesn't understand that I've been doing all of this crap since June. I'm doing it nearly every single day. I'm not being picky about jobs and I'm not messing around about unemployment, and I DO have things here.

I'm doing everything I can and I feel so demoralized and hopeless and he's acting like I'm just screwing around and not trying hard enough and that moving is just easy and who cares if I don't know anyone. I already feel like I barely have support and friends here, but I still do have something.

Whywould I choose to leave that and go where I have nothing, especially after being broken up with only 2 weeks ago? How is that any kind of option right now? And further, I do look at jobs across the country. If there was something that worked and was worth a move, I'd apply. I already am.

The hardest part in all of this outside of losing his support, is that my ex is exactly who I'd turn to in a situation like this. She understood me and my relationship with my dad, and would always listen and treat me kindly when things like this happened.

With her gone, I'm feeling even more hurt and raw. Like I don't have anyone I can turn to (I messaged a friend I thought might listen, and he just didn't respond). It's been really difficult, and it's why I'm writing all of this at 4:30 am. I can't sleep, and feel really alone and unheard.
