labs not fine

so when we took dad to er they said labs were fine except for white count....turns out they didnt tell us the truth he got sicker and sicker and when we went to his doctors he had the er labs pulled and there were many critical highs all over the place  his dr showed me the lab results he was in kidney failure sat night and was developing septic shock which is what he was in when he was admitted tues to the hospital......so acute renal failure, uti septic shock, then developed pneumonia.   he almost died was transferred to the icu.....now he is coming around.  the kidneys are functioning again the pneumonia and uti are finally responding to antibiotics he is retaining a bp now ....but is going to need extensive rehab.  and the intensivist told me today that the diagnosis of alzheimers was wrong and his dementia after his hospitalization last time was caused by the hospitalization and that with nutrition and some rehab and hydration he should get back to his initial prehospital state with the mild dementia.  he has major unit psychosis going on with confusion and hallucinations right now ....which is to be expected ....it has been an extremely emotional week....and i am cautious to have hope about anything.  i will just expect to deal with the worst i think and if anything gets better it will be a pleasant suprise
