Labor Day

Jeanne is hard to believe it is Labor Day already. Like every labor day  I will have your family up to the lake to spend a weekend together.  this year there will be 21 one of us but it is going to be so hard without you there with us to celebrate. I almost did not plan the weekend but I have made every effort to continue doing things that we would have done if you were still here with us. I am sure you will be there with us and I will know you are there when I see a butterfly or hear the sounds of the wind chimes you loved so much.  It is hard to believe that last Labor Day was the last weekend we spent together enjoying life and laughing together. It was 2 days after Labor Day when we came home you developed what appeared to be a nasty cough. It was the beginning of our lives getting ready to come crashing down,  It was only weeks later that you went to the hospital and I was told by the surgeon in the hall that you had stage IV lung cancer and that there was nothing anyone could do for you and that I had less than a year left to be with you. Sometimes it feels like yesterday that this nightmare began and other days it feels like eternity.  I know your biggest concern when you knew you were going to die was how I was going to manage what was in store for me after you were gone home to the Lord.  I know that we were both concerned that I would do something to myself so that I would join you, and although there were times that almost happened I managed to get through those moments. I know that you are very proud of me on how I continue to be here for our children and employees.  I know now that I will be okay and someday hopefully soon I will once again experience some of the joy life has to offer.  I miss you every moment of every day. I keep a candle lit so that I think of you when ever I see it and when people come over they know that you are still here with me..  I give your picture 3 kisses every day just like the 3 kisses we gave each other every time we left and the 3 kisses I gave you when you died in my arms.
We told each other that we loved each other FOREVER and that has not changed my love for you continues to grow every day until we meet again. (which I hope is very soon). together for 42 years does not seem lime anywhere near long enough but I now know that 89 years would still have been to short.  I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU . I pray that you are in god's hands and at peace surrounded by those who love you. God Bless

Your Jeanne is always with you in your heart. You will carry her always. I am happy for you, that you are doing this outing. Life does go on and we do need to be there for our families. They have experienced enough tragedy and sadness. It sounds like you had a wonderful life together. I think those memories are what see us through. Patti
