Dearest,
Sorry I’m late but I was in the hospital. I had some troubling symptoms so I called “The Voice of Doom”. He decided it was serious enough for a CT scan. I had large kidney stones in both kidneys, one kidney was totally blocked and has been for decades, the other had a stone as large but it wasn’t blocking my kidney. Well, not completely. Seemed to be a life-threatening situation. They wanted to put a stent in and try to break up the kidney stone in the good kidney right away. The urologist said that it was a quick and easy procedure, in and out and I’d back at work in a day or two. I was there all day and then transferred to the hospital where I had to stay overnight. Exactly one year to the day of your passing I was in the same place, I thought about that. I figured that I was following you exactly one year later. Anyway, I’m back home now and the pain is subsiding. A follow up CT scan showed that the stone was completely blasted away, into dust apparently. I still have to go get the stent out but hopefully that will be much simpler.
My hospital adventure was a desperate and painful trial. When I tell people about some of the things that happened they say that it sounds like a Monty Python skit. I guess you could look at it that way but not when it’s you that’s the butt of the joke.
As soon as I’m well enough I’ll come visit you. I’m still trying to recover from all the crap they did to me at the hospital. It was really bad not having you when I had to go through all this shit. I’m glad that you never had to feel so all alone.
                        As always your Ken
