Korea Air Force takes delivery of its first Airbus A330 MRTT
The Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) has received its first Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft at Gimhae Air Force.
South Korea is one of 12 nations to have ordered the aircraft and seventh member of the worldwide family of A330 MRTT operators.
The endurance and range of the ROKAF’s fighter aircraft will be extended by the new-generation A330 MRTT and it will also help in providing transport capability for passengers and freight.
The A330 MRTT will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines for South Korean service. Airbus Refueling Boom System is fitted in the aircraft and it can be configured in a variety of layouts to carry passengers and freight or for medevac purposes.
The total in-service fleet of South Korea will reach to 35 with the delivery of A330 MRTT.
