Kite festival photos.
I know I am really slow to post my photos, these days. I used to post them almost immediately after I came home from the event. Sorry. The Kite festival was held on March 30th 2024 near the Washington Monument. I was unable to go last year due to rain, the moved the event to that Sun, but I work on Suns and couldn't get off.
I DO intend to take off on Mon to see the eclipse. I have eclipse glasses that should make viewing them safer. The second photo has the African American culture museum in the background. There are 2 photos one has a blue kite and the other a white one. One of my friends dubbed the blue kite the 'shower curtain' and the white one 'a mattress cover.'
There was also a Japanese drumming bands there. I had my fold-up chair and it was fun to see the drummers drumming away. Though it started out Sunny that day, the clouds moved in and it was kind of chilly. Many people, including the drummers, had on short sleeves. I'm all bundled up and people are in short sleeves....go figure! LOL Enjoy the photos.

Tu for sharing the kite festival. I'm glad u were able to go. The kites look really nice & that's nice u heard Japanese drummers & u were dressed warmly for the chilly weather. That's nice u r looking forward to watching the solar eclipse this Mon & took Monday off from work to see the eclipse & u have the glasses to see it. I hope u have a nice evening & day tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your pics of the kite festival. I just love the one with the whale, it was so cool and you’re lucky that you got to go. I’m glad you got special glasses to watch the eclipse on Monday, I was going to, but then I didn’t bother.
