Kidney Infection Makes Depression Feel Worse
Sunday, August 03, 2008 – 12:15 P.M. My medicine for the kidney infection does not seem to be working as well today as it did yesterday. My body still feels cold even though it should be warm. As for pain, even the pain medication does not appear to be as effective as it should. I have the option of increasing my dosage, but I have an aversion to taking lots of medicine. I talked with my sister late yesterday afternoon. She was unhappy because if her husband had still been alive, it would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. Additionally, neither of her children had called, and she did not know whether they had forgotten the anniversary, or just did not know what to say to her. After we got off the phone, I emailed both of her children and reminded them about the anniversary. Her daughter had forgotten. I have not heard from her son. Tomorrow morning, I am seeing my social worker, which is a good thing because I feel as though there are too many things happening in my life right now, and this is causing me a lot of stress. A lot of stress is one of the triggers that cause me to have strong cravings for crack cocaine. I have sensed that craving for a couple of weeks, but I do not want to even go there. After seeing my social worker, I have to see my psychiatrist who prescribes most of my meds. Both of their offices are just down the hall from one another, so that will make this easier. Ahh, cheez, sorry to hear you are not feeling as good as you had hoped.
I can understand your desire to keep the medication dosage low.
But, you have to clear up this infection, as you do know.
Sometimes it takes time to see steady progress with a medication.
Things are very stressful for you.
I am glad you have both appointments tomorrow.
Most importantly....DON\'T GO THERE !!
Kidney infections are horrible!!!, you definitely need to do whatever is neccessary to clear that up, I hate those, my kidney\'s seem to constantly flare up, maybe you should call the doctor back about the medicine, Stay away from those things that are not going to help you.
My favorite quote is used today! Not that I don\'t enjoy Madonna, it\'s just that I find our society all mixed up as to what we consider success.
I hope you get some better meds, Jim. I just started on cymbalta and so far it\'s okay. It hasn\'t cured my depression but it\'s helping me feel slightly better. I think the depression I\'m suffering this time is more situational though.
Hugs to you, my friend.
