Hello my friends,
Ken's MRI results are in. He has Benign Meningioma, which from what I understand is a benign (thank God) tumor in his brain. He will probably need surgery. We will talk about the treatment plan at his next neurological appointment.
Ken is very frightened at the prospect of surgery on his brain, of course. At least it is benign so I am still convinced he will be fine.
Thank you for all the support and please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot.

That is good news - it is not a malignant tumor. I can understand his fear of having surgery on his brain. However it is a toss-up between surgery and headaches. I have a friend who had something similar - hers was a bit more serious but she has made a full recovery and is busy back at university finishing her degree to be a nurse practitioner, and starting a nurse run clinic!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Ken.

OH, I know it is a relief to know this and just before the holiday so that you can count the benign part as a blessing....I know that being operated on brings on its own anxiety and who wouldn\'t be fearful.....I have both of you on my prayer list that I keep right here by my pc.......God will be guiding the surgeon\'s hands...all is good...love,...dale, brandon\'s mom

Dearest Linda, I am so glad to hear his tumor is benign...I can only imagine how very relieved you both are.Any surgery on the brain is very scary, but I wanted to share with you that my younger brother had a brain tumor removed a little over a year ago-while it was very serious and a lengthy recovery, he is doing very well now-he was 46 at the time of his surgery.I know you must be feeling a bit anxious right now and I will keep you all in my prayers...If there is anything I can do please let me know.

It is good to know what has been causing Ken\'s discomfort. There are so many new advances and equipment today that makes brain surgeries so much easier and successful. Wishing Ken the best surgeon and a quick recovery. Many hugs, Peggy

So appreciate reading the news and it\'s something tangible that you can hold onto and have it taken care of. These surgeries continue to be perfected daily and just make sure you have the very BEST! I know that you feel very confident with the doc and that is so important!
Putting our bodies, our brains into someone else\'s hands is filled with all kinds of thoughts... I can only imagine, yet perhaps the \"unknown\" has been the worst part and now you both have the information, something tangible that can be taken care of.

This is WONDERFUL!!! I understand his fear at surgery of course but no malignancy is an enormous PLUS. I will continue to pray for him.
Thinking about surgery, of any kind but especially on the brain, would be frightening! So glad it is a benign tumor though. Holding you both close as you make your way through this crisis. *Hug* ~ Adrianne
I can totally understand Ken\'s nervousness about the surgery. I thought having surgery on my EYE was scary but there\'s no comparison. I am confident that all will be fine and Ken will be 100% OK and no repercussions to the surgery. I will continue my prayers for complete healing and recovery! Love+Hugs, Donna
About 30 years ago my brother-in-law had a grapefruit size tumor taken from his brain and he came through the surgery just fine and is healthy and fine to this day. Keeping Ken and you in my prayers...love and hugs...Lynn
Dear Linda, Such good news. Meninges: lining, the outside layer of the brain. Place: GOOD! Reasonable access for removal: GOOD! Prognosis: GREAT! There may be some swelling after the surgery with temporary side-effects but these can be managed. And if you know they\'re coming, you can help Ken to cope. Some of our favorite words in the English languare are: \"this is normal, honey!\" \"It will get better!\" and \"The worst is over. Just rest and let your body heal.\"
