Keeping on keeping on
Oddly my goal update showed up as a journal entry. So this should be a journal entry. After five years of my husband dealing with many issues he had gotten a pacemaker and things seemed better. He'd been through two bouts of cancer, had meylondysplasia and myasthenia gravis and a spinal cord injury. But he was still up and around every day. But within the last year it had been harder for him to walk much due to shortness of breath. Finally he got the pacemaker, which really helped. That was for two months. Then he got up from a nap and collapsed and died. That was mid January.
Two weeks later our 13 year old dog joined my husband in death. Now I feel old, alone, deserted and depressed. But I am trying to do things right. I had no appetite for a long while, so when it came back some I began to eat right. I have a friend who goes to yoga with me and Tai Chi. I'm trying to make ends meet, as there is no money. I'm trying to get the house organized after so many years neglect. All of the last five years were spent either taking my husband to medical appointments, sitting quietly while he took his many naps, or tending to the dog, who was also sick. Now I feel lost. I have one adult son who lives nearby, who ignores me. Two distant adult children with loose contact. So I am just trying to put one foot in front of the other and make it day to day.

I can\'t imagine what it\'s been like to go through what you have. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Gez
I had wondered (hoped) your children were being close to you thru all this. I am so sorry to hear you lost your furchild too. Your heart is so soft and vunerable now. Please take loving care of yourself. I wish I were close enough to help you.
(hugs)
I was thinking that maybe you could adopt a furbaby, dog or kitty from a rescue to give you and you them unconditional love:-) It\'s just a thought, we were at Petco yesterday and there are so many cats looking for \"Forever Homes\" and it was labeled on the cages what kind of purrsonality they had. Some of them were so loving through the cage bars, I wanted to take one home!
Love & hugs,
Lois
