Keeping Busy
I have been staying sober so far, and I forgot to mention that I'm also nicotine free on the same date. Smoking and drinking go together for me. I have to discipline myself more. I haven't been active on this site. Well, I've been going to CR, but I need to start going to AA more. I seem to take on a lot. Other people seem to tell me that. If I don't stay busy I'll get bored, and that is a trigger to drink. I feel like I have to be busy to keep myself occupied. Some people like my mother seem to think that I do too much. Is she right? Am I taking on too much? I work 2 days of the week. I do 2 walking groups, and a movie group, I spend time with my boyfriend. I go to CR which is a Christian Recovery Group. I go to two of them which are at different churches. One on Thursday night and also Monday. So that would be twice a week. I do homework for one of the CR groups. I never started to do homework for the other one because I feel it would be too much. I'd like to combined them together, but I'm not sure how. I help lead at one. I usually greet or make sure people sign in. I also spend time with my mother, and sister. So I do make time for my family, and my best friend. I know I need to reach out to others more. I mainly hang out with only a few people. I need to reach out to people more. That's something I need to work on. Oh! I forgot to mention that I'm finishing a step study. Another one started just recently. I'm doing that now too. The 1st step study is almost done. I got homework for both. I guess I stay busy because boredom is a trigger for me. I have to keep busy. It keeps me sober. Anything wrong with that?
