Keeping at it

Think one way of keeping myself on track with my Self Improvement task is to journal regularly for a while.  Been going ok.  Some areas still neglected - not finding the time to sit and meditate of Be Still but diet holding.
I put my weight goal in kg - in US terms that is technically 138.6 lbs my wonderful internet converter tells me and I have lost 3.1 lbs (1.4kg) so far.  Into second week and finding it a bit strange to have to eat more and not less... the idea on this diet is to trick metabolism so it doesnt slow down. I forgot to put my starting weight - that was 69.1  but didnt convert that to lbs. Think it works out I am trying to shed 13 lbs plus a bit.  ???(I think)
Charity shop bag being filled... House not much cleaner though..
Big local news this week is we have a boat stuck on reef out from where I live.(Tauranga). Already some oil hitting the beaches. Big deal for us but know compared with what happened in US this small time.  However current government wants to ok drilling off another of our coastlines and so feel uneasy. Dont know if news re our container ship has hit international media or not. If so that coastline is where I like to hang out in summer.(Mount Maunganui/Papamoa)
This weekend went to my first Maori tangi.  I was the  only non Maori who not related to attend whole thing and felt it was both a privilege and insite into part of NZ culture that not really visible in day to day life.  If anyone has seen Maori haka via All Blacks on TV picture that with all the local males right down to small boys at a graveside.  Really brought tears to eyes - so moving. In fact the whole thing was.  I came home and told my husband I want a tangi and not a western funeral (there is a western style religious ceremony at the marae but much nicer).
Weather not so wonderful today so the Beast is lurking in fingers but not enough to stop me typing so grateful for that.
