kind of wiped out today. went over my blood work and my hemoglobin DID go up to 9.2 so the doctor read it wrong, it was the last blood work that said 7.3. think i'll use a different doctor. lol. here we go. wth? so i took a full iron pill, his suggestion, and today, not feeling too good. so back to just half. half i didn't have side effects. met with gaeld, who is super wiped out herself. they are leaving for arizona today. i think she is from there, she has that baked look that people from the south west generally have. i don't think humans are meant to live in desserts. her daughter was with her, she is like a dark haired version of her. they always act like they are hiding something. they are the ones that took a loss on each house they bought. this time as well. maybe stop buying? seriously. was supposed to go up to the next county to check on something that came in ten days ago and didn't have the energy to do it. wth? hemoglobin must be very important for functioning. seriously.
went for a massage at the mall and ended up doing a study by accident. lol. so add $7. yay me.
had dinner at k's. he made reallllly good linguine with meat sauce that tasted like sausage sauce, salad, stuffed green peppers (fabulous), rum and vanilla cokes with cherries (also excellent, white wine and some kind of brownie-cookie and yellow cake. watched "i married a witch" its a 1947 movie by the screenwriters who wrote the topper series, which i'm a fan of.
just started the book 100 daughters' mother, by lenore carroll. its excellent. never heard of ANY of this stuff before. prostitution in china was (is?) considered "normal" (kinda like in Nevada or Holland today?), like marriage or eating food - its not disrespected. "owners" would buy female children to raise them to BE prostitutes. wth? totally sick, unreal that its not illegal, but in china prositution is considered normal, like training them to have any other profession. wth?
a missionary in the 1890's started raidingbrothelsand saving the girls. some stayed (all the children stayed and most of the adult women), but some would actually leave the mission and return to it.
the book is based on the real life of donaldina cameron: "Donaldina met Missionary/rescuer, Margaret Culbertson and became a sewing teacher at Culbertson's Mission. Culbertson and the Presbyterian Home acted as a place of refuge for freed indentured female Chinese servants (who were being forced and drugged to work as prostitutes). Culbertson created a place where these women and children could be safe from the outside world and get an education. Together, Culbertson and Cameron worked to rescue female Chinese immigrants until Culbertsons death in 1897. they rescued a total of 3000 female children and women.
also reading ginger alden's memoir, from front and back to keep it interesting. like i'll read the chapters at the end and then get bored and read the chapters at the beginning. its good as well, when read that way. love the photos of her engagement ring. really pretty. she says it was 11 1/2 carots, if the diamond is real, its worth a fortune.

I have a beautiful engagement ring and it\'s cubic zirconium. If it was a real diamond I would be scared to wear it. I love it and I could care less if it was a real diamond. Diamonds are common in Africa and the only reason they are so expensive is because DeBeers limits how many get sold. Sorry about the mini rant. They say that in places like China marriage is about money first (paying the husband to take the wife), then children second, then lastly, love. Here in the Western world for the most part it\'s about love first, then children, then about money.

You don\'t have to go to China to find young girls being kidnapped and forced into prostitution. It\'s very common now right here in the US. In fact it\'s a very serious problem where I live in SW Florida. We have organizations here that rescue these girls and get help for them.
I don\'t know the exact numbers, but the statistics on how many girls get kidnapped and forced to work as prostitutes in the US are mind boggling. It\'s especially common to see these young girls working the crowds at events like the Super Bowl. Many of them are sixteen or younger.
This problem is all over the world, not just in China. And the crime syndicates that do this often move the girls across borders, which makes them especially hard to combat. They\'re extremely dangerous and brutal criminals....there\'s a lot of money in this trade.
