I'm really beginning to hate my job.   My best friend at the office left a week ago... she'd finally had enough.   We both knew she was being targeted, so I don't blame her one bit for leaving.
The targeting has now been turned toward me, which I fully expected.   It's been coming in bits and pieces for the past 6 months and I've already had discussions about it with our boss.  And yet, all of a sudden last Friday, the Corporate Manager who causes the problems decided to pull my decision making on our collections.   It's not her choice to do that, and I COULD get into a HUGE battle with her or go over her head to the boss.... but I won't.   Because she's in charge of the vacation schedule and I'm going no matter what, and if I blow this off, everything will go smoothly.  So I bite my tongue.... well, after I started writing an email to my boss, saved it as a draft so I could look at it clearly later, and then deleted it after I realized how ANGRY I was coming across...
Yesterday, I had to call her, the Corp. Manager.   We're doing this program where we're giving 1/2 off for new customers.  Which is STUPID... these customers are walking in, completely clueless that the program is going on because the company refuses to advertise and therefore the customers are expecting to pay full price.   She said it's to bring up my numbers.   Instead, it's lowering them.   But whatever, it makes me feel Christmasy....
And so she said that because the new computer isn't calculating right, SHE has to program it in, fax it to me.   Ok, fine.... so yesterday, a customer walks in - has a 20 minute lunch and the DRIVE to my office sucks that up fast.   So I got all the information and she was going to come back at 2:30 to sign the papers.... so as she leaves, I call the Corp Manager, tell her what I need... and she says she refuses to process the paperwork until the customer is standing in the office.... which is going to suck up more time and make my customer LATE.
So again, I think "WHATEVER".   2:30 comes, customer comes in, I tell her I need to wait - and of course, customer is irked - AND THEN, Corp. Manager puts me on speaker phone, says to the new employee she's training that we're doing this 1/2 program... AND THEN says I had to call her to get APPROVAL to make sure I wouldn't CHEAT and give out loans to people not qualified.   WHAT THE HELL!!!!!
I bit my tongue.... wasn't about to get into this in front of MY customer.... but I STEWED on it all day yesterday....  my vacation time isn't signed off on yet.  And if I go to the supervisor ONCE AGAIN now, she'll retaliate... because that's what she always does... and my time off would be DENIED.   So now, I'm getting a chance to practice PATIENCE... this will come in handy for when I'm around my mother in 2 weeks, lol... and to release my anger, I think about the Karma she's building for herself.... oooo, she's gonna get hit with a doozy some day...  but at least I can let go...  And I get to practice this for the next 2 weeks.... well, at least until she signs off on the vacation... MAN, what a challenge!   LATER!

You are so GOOD!!! I love your practicing patience!! I guess I need to do A LOT of practicing. Thanks for writing about this, I really needed a real life situation to see the benefits of \"practicing patience\"! I know you will accomplish all that you want! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! ((HUGS))

I know you will have the patience to get your vacation and make that trip. I hope you are already looking for another job. Patience will only go so far if a manager has decided to target you.

I got targeted on one of my jobs and I could see the handwriting on the wall and quit. It took me several months to find another job and the economy was great at that time.
