Just when I thought winter was over.
It snowed again last night. How are the robins going to find worms?
One of the squirrels built a snow fort in the deep snow next to the house where it slides off the roof. It's very well hidden. I never would have known it was there but I saw him crawling into it while I was on my way back into the house, through the back door. He is a clever little fella.

Hi Bob. Yep Old Man Winter loves sticking around. We are having a major mix of weather too. From snow squalls, thunderstorms and a host of other precipitation. Grrr. Today it is beautiful. Squirrels are smart critters. We have a wooded lot next to the building and they are always running around. Hugs and stay safe.

Yea it was snowing here in NY on Wed & Thurs night then last night thunderstorms & today will be thunderstorm
My rescue cat Baby is so terrified of thunderstorms that I spent a lot of last night on the floor next to the bed with a blanket while he hid under the bed & I held his paw

@ Atpeacemary. The winters of past were far worse then they are now. It was always just snow but now we get snow followed by rain followed by snow then rain etc. The weather's been crazy.
@ lilmissy7 Awwww...You are an angel!... Always coming to the aide of animals in distress. Thunderstorms bother alot of dogs as well.

Unfortunately yes we are freezing, melting, freezing, melting... As long as it doesn't melt too fast and cause more flooding.
Put outside some raisins, dried fruit, nuts, berries for the Robins. It will help. We had a winter storm that hit a couple of years ago in April. It killed a lot of Robins. Please help if you can.

@ billwfriend....if I was lost in the woods and starving, that might be one of my options but luckily there is a grocery store just down the road from me. :)
@ kmhll447 Floods are rare here but I have seen that at their worst during the winters in which we had alot more snow then we get now. Be careful out there.
@ Gonefornow I use to think robins were carnivores but apparently not, I will put out some left over grapes for them,
@ Ladybug7 I planted the tree on the left...many years ago. It was in the way of a shed which I was constructing, but instead of cutting it down, I dug it up and transplanted it. I planted the one on the right also, but I don't remember where it came from. The one on the left is a rugged spruce tree that holds my bird feeders and the one on the right is a fir tree. I love my trees :)
