Just When I Thought it Was Safe....

Well, another trip to the doc this morning proved just as frustrating as usual :)  My primary care doc is pretty ok in my book...a bit rough around the edges but nonetheless he's not one to beat around the bush with nonsense and idle small talk.  I knew this was going to be just a follow-up visit, those lovely ones that come every three months.  I sometimes get tired of them because usually right around the time I see this doctor I see my specialist as well and then it's just telling two different doctors the same things and trying to remember everything and keep things straight with what I've told to which one.  I swear, from now on I'm just going to type a report and hand it to each of them at my visits.  The good news is that there's nothing new to take note of, and no news is good news.  But....of course my doctors saw fit to turn into vampire man and do a million blood tests today so now I feel lousy and just want to lie down.  This is all fine and good excpet that I just called my husband and told him and he had that disappointed tone to his voice, like as if he wanted to relay to me that he's growing frustrated with my tiredness.  So am I!  Just one day I'd like to get up and do all the things I used to do and not be dragged down or have to go back to bed because my meds are making me feel lousy or because the doctors took so much blood or because I'm waiting for test results to come back and I'm stressed over it.   The good news is that today marked the last day of my dreaded drug/alcohol screenings (I can't believe it took so long to have 6 months of them done but I guess that's the way it goes when I only see my doc every 3 months.)  But it's done, and now all of my paperwork for treatment and the like are sent to Walter Reed so maybe the rest should look a bit easier.  All I have to do is keep my doctor appointments and make sure my docs here send all my test results to Walter Reed and gosh knows that's fairly easy :)  So....as I head off for a nap with my cozy kitty cats (who, by the way, never ever care if thier mama is sick or tired or crabby so long as I scratch their little ears and tell them I love them....they don't judge or shout or make me feel inadequate) I'm thinking positive thoughts because I know I could have given up long before this.  I could have said all this was way too frustrating to deal with and I was just going to let it all take its course on it's own...but I didn't and now I feel one step closer to maybe someday, with the Grace of God, being healthy again :)
