Just some thoughts and a vent

Well, yesterday at my brother's house went ok.  His new house (he built himself) is beautiful!  His wife is pregnant and due in early April.  My sister lost 125 lbs.  She looks great and now wearing a size 10.  I am still at a 12.  She weighs about 160, I weigh 149.5 lbs.  So I am very frustrated there.  (I know, it is just a number, but I am still a little frustrated.)  She did this in 8 months.  I have lost 16.5 lbs in 1 year.  But I am back on track and hopefully will keep going.  Now, the one good thing:  I was going through my pictures of us on vacation a year ago.  Wow!  I really looked awful!  My face and my butt were huge!  So I noticeably have lost weight.  But I am venting as I am still frustrated. My sister kind of got an attitude.  Her daughter definitely got an attitude and said we were getting on her mom's case because we were jealous.  My mom was just concerned that she lost so much weight so fast and was worried about her health.  My mom, keep in mind, is 5' tall and weighs 102 lbs.  So where that came from, I don't know.  I guess I should just realize that I will never really be close to my sister.  I am not really close to my brothers for that matter, but I did get a chance to talk with my brother yesterday as he showed me his house.  I spoke with him more in those few hours than I have in over a year.   Went to the Y this am.  Working on Day 4 of being over 10,000 steps.  Should be there, no problem as I am over 8500 so far.  The Y was dead!  The mall and Target were packed to the gills at 6:15 AM!  No one was working out as everyone was shopping.  It was actually nice for me.  I will do most of my shopping on line.  I have NO patience for finding parking spaces, shopping crowded stores with half empty shelves and waiting in long lines with nasty miserable people! I didn't eat too bad yesterday.  1900 calories, which is good for Thanksgiving.  I got 19 minutes in on the gazelle and did a 25 minute walk with the dog when I got home.   Goal for the next few days:  eat clean, eat slower, check my portions, keep exercising!

As I read this journal I am thinking..Great your sister has lost all this weight BUT will see keep it off or will she be 30# heavier next Thanksgiving. I hope not but chances are YES she will. But you with the support that you have here at DS will lose and KEEP it OFF! Or I will come and kick butt! So just relax and keep doing your thing... lose it slow and when you get to your goal you will already be maintaining.

I agree. She lost it fast, but you are going the right way, and you have lots of support here. I don\'t think I would worry about the size difference - that\'s just build, body shape, clothes tags, and who knows which one item of clothing she is talking about lol.
Anyways, you are doing great! So glad you saw such a difference in the photo.
