Just some thoughts
Well, interim reports have come out. My daughter is doing awesome as usual, even performing "above average" in science, which is cool. My son is NOT FAILING any classes--yeah! Still comments on "not handing in homework", which we got on him about. He thought it was just good that he was passing (which it is), BUT he always tells us that he has completed his homework, which is obviously not true.
Another concern of mine, which I'm hoping is just a phase, is his gaming on his iPod Touch. Once he's "done with his homework", he's on it all night, pushes past his bedtime & of course is late the next day. I wish he would just STOP with the lateness. But these gaming phases play themself out & he's back to business as usual. I just hope it will be soon.
On a more personal front: H & I were having a generic conversation the other day; I think we were just making some general observations while watching TV. I said something along the lines of you may get married, but you don't get what you think you get. Which led him to saying that he hadn't changed--which isn't true, but the way he said it I could tell it wounded him.
It was the wounding that bothered me--I don't want to say things out of unkindness; I don't want to hurt others. But I did. Probably out of my own hurt, and partially because that is how I feel. However, just because I feel a certain way doesn't mean I should be unkind. Once again, I need to examine my motives: am I saying/doing things that is helpful/beneficial for all involved? (Eph 4:29)
