Just shy of a month away
With being only a few days from being a month away from the surgery I am really starting to get nervous about the whole thing. I know in my heart and whole being that this is the right decision for me to make. I know come this time next year that I will be feeling a whole lot better than I have been the last few months. I just want a better life for me and my family and while being excited to have this opportunity and this tool to help me I am a little scared of the problems that could pop up and make this miserable for me. I am ready for this as I have a variety of already made protein drinks stocked up in my cupboard, along with a variety of different broths and soups, and things that are on the allowed list for the first month after I have the surgery. I've also stocked up on a ton of easy to make things for my husband and my son for the first month. My husband will be staying home with me for the first two weeks and then if I need help after that my mother will come in during the day to help with my son. I figure that about two weeks will be enough for me start moving at a better rate and be able to get into some kind of groove to get my son taken care of during his waking hours and while he is at school. He will be six before I have the surgery and really not need a whole lot of extra stuff just getting him dressed for school/day, bathed at night and in his pajamas. However, he can dress himself it's just getting the clothes together for him. Sometimes having to help him straighten out his undies. I really think that the biggest thing of having this surgery that keeps me holding back a bit is the fact that I have to travel two hours away to have the surgery and stay in the hospital up there for two to three days away from my little guy. This is such a critical time in my life and I have such a hard time letting go of control of things that this is hard for me. I worry that others won't take care of my son as well as I would but then I know that the two people that are going to be caring for my little guy will care for him as much as I do and will be the best for him. Its just last minute doubts and concerns that I have heard from others a million times over. I am nervous about it but excited at the same time. I have wanted for so long to lose more weight and have tried millions of things. I want to prolong the wheelchair for as long as I can and I need to get the pounds off the back and hips to help that.
