Just Saw My Specialist

Well it's time I start this journal.  I saw my specialist this past friday.  My VL is 320,000 and I am type 1a. I'm a little scared but am excited that I can finally get things rolling.  DR told me that I have a great chance at beating this with Tx.  11 Months.  She said that a Bx was not necassary but if I wanted one to see where I stand it was a reasonable request.  I told her that I did.  Shoul be sometime in the next 2 weeks. Tx will be following soon.  I got my starter pack with all the goodies in it and am trying to get things ready at home. I have told my boss what's going on and he is being supportive but I am afraid that if things get to bad I might lose my job.  I guess thats something that I will have to deal with if it happens.  Made a wishlist on Walmart.com for some stuff that I can't readily afford right now but i think that my support group will help every chance they get.  I have a great woman with me and some very dear friends that have shown tremidous support so far.  I am just thankful for medical insurance.  It will pay for most everything, in theory.  Great insurance though. I am trying not to think of the side effects so much but they do have me worried. I am slowly quitting smoking and started weening myself off of caffine.  I will miss my Dr. Pepper and Coffee. My two life bloods. Not worried so much about the hair loss since I am losing my hair anyway.  I just hope my vision stays 20/20.   My BP was 121/72, my pulse was 68, and I am at 236 Lbs. She said that I was healthy and mentally prepared for this but how can you really be, ya know.  I have not told my son yet.  I still think that he is to young but I will have to tell him something.  Maybe that I am sick and trying to get better will suffice for now. Anyway, please say some prayers.  I know that I am. Tx is getting ready to start.
