Just Praying
Within Hubby's update on the homestead was that YS and his wife had been reduced to crashing there. They showed up during the night Hubs slept there. At present, there is plenty of room. ES and two dogs are the only ones there and ES doesn't open his bedroom door any more often than his sister-in-law opens hers. It is hard to know through closed door communications, but I believe the two hate each other even more than they hate Toxic Mom/Monster-in-law, aka: Me.
I bought some standard commercial herbs last week. Basil, parsley, sage, dill, oregeno and cilantro. I put them in the extraction room to protect them from the freeze that nipped the prairie the night after I bought them. As I tinkered with them this morning, the prayer wafted in on the scents of the infant herbs that the two of them find each other as peer supporters. Similarities cause more problems than differences, but my long journey through my mental illness has convinced me that over-coming the trigger effect of similarities is a valid path to inner peace. Or am I just playing Sheeba, Queen of De Nial again? ? ?
Just praying. . . Dunno why. . . Prayer gives me something to do when there is nothing I can do. Just casting my cosmic vote.
I am nearly ready to declare the painting of the interior of the honey barn finished. Today's daylight isnae is good for seeing color and the cold makes for lo-o-o-ong drying times. It is hard to know for sure. We see how the paint dries.

I have been staring at my herb seeds for days. patience in process. Here it is not the time for even starting them. Though the barn seems good enough for acclimating the tender plants.
I feel a slight sigh of relief that YS slept safe, prayers are answered in strange ways.

Prayers , meditation, positive thinking all help me when I need something to do but there if really nothing I can do too.
Triple hugs friend
Gentle hug sweetie..... I find prayer helpful as well..... Dropping it all in my God box gives me some relief...… xo
Lots of hugs and support, Arfie.
I’m finding your statement of “similarities cause more problems than differences,” very intriguing of an insight. Prior to meeting my husband, my other relationships were based off our similarities and they just always seemed to become toxic as time went on. My husband is my complete opposite and I won’t deny it comes with its own challenges but I find our extreme difference actually balance me out far more than the similarities I had with previous partners. You very well may have hit another bullseye, Arfie.
I have my own unique way of praying but I’m praying with you all the same. Blessing and luck to you.
Hugs & love
The ever changing dynamics of my former birth family and now current family can rip my heart out as you know what is happening with John. Jumping up and down that his case manager is focused on just 'following the rules' of where he lives so he won't get kicked out.
Could I offer Lavender to your herb garden...soother, helps with sleep and wonderful to smell... it's said that women in the 1800 until the end of the corset era were given lavender to ease the pain of those ''tight strings''... thinking All Mothers. the pain of those strings never go away...don't know for sure though...every Mother is different.
It's 26 degrees in CT...wondering if spring will come...and come soon enough to keep my head on my shoulders. The need of my garden is Great...a place of solace, prayer and working out challenges in my life...My prayer, the same gifts my garden brings to me, will in turn come, to ease your mind...and bring you comfort.
The angels must have heard your lavender offerings, ML. I picked up a sweet lavender from the grocery store herb rack today. It is a bit premature for planting here, but only a bit. If I decided to plop my herbs in the ground today, they could be nursed through whatever frost nips might be left to the season. I'm a big lavender fan. My biggest collection to date was around a dozen varieties. Lavender is almost as big a subject as mint. Almost? Maybe? Mint cross-breeds with such ease that it is continually reinventing itself.
Sweet fennel was my big addition for the day. It settles my gassy tummy days more than any other remedy I have found.
In Arf World, similarities most definitely cause more problems than differences. I stole that elegantly worded simplicity from a forgotten source, but I understood it immediately. I am only now learning how to tolerate people who are too much like me. More of me is like ordering a double on your nitroglycerin cocktail, then ordering another round. My hubby is pretty much my polar opposite. We often crack that between us there is balance. We both need the balance.
