Just news...
Well, here we are, nearly at the end of another year and while things aren't great, they could be much worse. We have adjusted to non-military life and I have decided to try going back to work as a substitute teacher. Truth be told, it would have been sooner but the process and long (and very rightly so).
Today we found out that hubby's temp position he has been working since getting out of the Navy has been terminated so that leaves us starting over again. I have faith that something will come along and goodness knows he tries. He never stops sending out resumes and making phone calls and for that I'm grateful. I'm also grateful that he's here to help me when I feel miserable...when my meds make me tired, when my depression takes over...and when life seems to be too much. In or out of uniform he'll always be my hero.
The only other piece of negative news we've gotten is that I can't sign up for Medicare until January since the Navy extended our medical coverage until then. That's all fine and dandy except that my Medicare coverage won't actually start until July. Seven months with no coverage and no help with my meds. And my specialist now wants me to get some blood test to check for other issues with my liver, something regarding markers for tumors (since the small spot I had on my liver for years is now back). But once again, we'll find a way to take care of each other and our lives because that's just who we are....and with God's grace we'll be just fine.
Hugs and love~
