Just General Life

I should get my tax return tomarrow, im exited. so i can get things taken care of.  then i will feel better about things. its been tough for me to get things done lately, little things, .like the dishes, vacuuming, anything of the sort. i used to do it every day, but the past month, maybe even two i dont want anyting to do with any of it. its hard to drag myself up to do it. i mean, dont picture mountains of dishes and stains all over the floor, its not disgusting, but it is a seemingly constant clutter. i know the baby is walking and has an obsession wit pulling things down as soon as i put them up, but she is a good girl, and really not too bad about things. i need to get my but up and moving, i havent even started working out yet, and i really do, want to wear a bikini this summer, i never have, even when i was in shape cause i was too self concious. and i just want to be in shape and skinny one more time, before i have more kids, or anything else. im going to order nutrisystem, its expensive, but i think one month of it will get me on the right track. and there is a gym here with daycare, i calculated out it will cost about 200 a month to work out 8 hours a week, yikes, but its the only way i will be able to do it consistently, and i think it will help this boring, blah-yucky mood i cant seem to shake.  Just a thought, a year, even two and 3 years ago, i would not have been able to afford nutrisystem, or even thought about it. or that expensive of a gym membership cause i was gambling that bad. im glad i am where i am now.  and next project, is to move out of this itsy bitsy tiny apartment! Ariyah needs her own room! or at least a place to put her toys, and im worried about my dog, she keeps getting out of this fence, its a huge yard, and there is a highway right next to it. i cant imagine being without my puppy. and im tired of hearing the landlords in the mainhouse fight or talk, or whatever, its always loud. i can hear a fly fart over there. im talking with a friedn at work, who has two kids, and her husband, and we are all thinking of finding a big 4-5 bedroom house to rent together, and save money, she is paying 1000, not even including utilities, and we are paying 600.  ours wouldnt change a whole lot, but we would have more rooms and more space. it would be easy to find a house like that for 1300 or so, maybe even less.  i think its a good idea, we just all need to start hangin out so that to make sure we get along. but so far we do. only thing im worrried about is her son, she says how much of a hellion he is.....  what does everyone think?

Yeah, about the taxes and I support you 100% in getting in shape.

About combining families ... be very careful. I would at the very least, use some of that tax refund and maybe go camping for a weekend together.

A couple of years ago I moved to the same city as my cousin. I love my cousin, I adore her, we are 3 months apart and have always gotten along great. At that time, she was really struggling as a single mother.

She had 2 teen-agers and 2 dogs. I had my dog and a cat. We had the same idea about getting a big house. It would help her out a lot, and I would still save money versus living alone. THANK GOODNESS that I decided to stay with her for 4 days while we house hunted. I amost went out of my mind.

The noise level in that house was simply intolerable for me. I have never had kids and not only were her kids teenagers, they were SUPER LOUD and constantly playing rap music (which gives me a blinding head ache). Furthermore, my animals are PERFECT (LOL) and her 2 dogs were so yippy. I never thought I could dislike any animal, but all of a sudden I understood why some people hate dogs. They were not housebroken, barked constantly, etc.

Anyway, for the sake of my sanity and my continued relationship with my cousin, we did not move in together.

I hate to be so negative as I have always been interested in communal living (not communual shagging - LOL) but exactly what you are proposing families living together (in harmony) to save on expenses and resources.

However, here in the West we have been taught to value our privacy above all things and it is really different when you are living under the same roof.

They could have different time schedules, how are you going to react if they discipline your child? What if they are not fair about common usage (dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper)?

I am not saying it is not a good idea, it is just A LOT of things to consider. Especially if you sign a lease and then you are in an uncomfortable living situation. That could become super miserable!!!

Let us know what you decide. I hope I didn\'t sound like Debbie Downer, just trying to be realistic!!!

Susy has a point; I would be very careful about this. It may be that things would work out fine, but all too often, one group begins to walk all over the other group. Plus, there are all the personal dynamics, too. And it is a lot harder fo you to pull up stakes, with your daughter to consider.

As for Nutrisystem, I used it very briefly, and was disappointed. For one thing, the serving sizes are too large for me, and you still have to add in food items; bread, salad, etc. Plus, the entrees were not all that great; they use some sort of soy to raise the protein, and soy give me heartburn. I did a lot better on my own. Also, a gym membership does not very often work out the way you plan; I would consider getting a treadmill or some such first. Plus, a lot of gyms these days expect you to let them pull your membership fees directly from your bank account, which can be a hassle.
