Just Five More Minutes

Just five more minutes I want to say.
Just here in bed please let me lay.
To lie down on sheets these of gold,
And not listen to the alarm which has told
Me to awake to a brand new day.
Full of wonder, joy and fun.
But how much longer can I run
On this little sleep I tend to get?
The workload now that I have met
I just need now to be done.
I feel sick now all the time,
And I know it's a choice of mine
To stay up late to meet the tasks
And do the things the teacher asks.
So the answers no, not five more minutes
I must get up to meet the day.
