Just Bummed...Or Worried?

...my best kittie, Zottie, is still sick....upper respiratory infection...well, maybe, but I can't give him the full dose of his 2nd meds.  I stuck my pinky in a drop of the stuff, and tasted it--it was on my tongue for hours!  :>0  In fact, I once mistook diluted Chlorox for regular water (that's what happens when your allergies are so bad that you can't smell!) & let me tell you, that tasted better than this stuff!  I've been trying to "dilute" his meds. off into tuna juice, chicken broth, etc., to mask the flavor, but even there, I can only give him 1/2 the dose he's supposed to have, per day, cause the stuff is so foul!  He ran away the first time, and because he threw up his 1st meds--"pink" amoxycillin--I am really cautious about making him any sicker than he already is.  Plus, he's an older cat & I don't want to be any harder on his system, by overwhelming him...but, I'm starting to worry... Plus, our regular vet is off until Monday...should I take him in and let another dr. do a blood profile and give a new opinion?  I just don't know that I would trust a stranger... Prob. doesn't help that I had my 2nd gum graft, yesterday...I feel like poop on a stick and look about the same...most of the throbbing has ceased...now, I'm just trying not to "taste" the sutures, and ignore where the shots went in...will say that the peridontist is a pro & has a very gentle touch...still, maybe my judgement's off, being 'hors de combat'...
