Just another report announcer?
SEnuke: Ready for action
In Google's new battle towards becoming a global information middle, I have come to notice that the results provided from Google News appears like only the articles we publish every day. So I ask, doesn't it appear to be Google News resembles an article listing of some sorts?
* Google News World: http://news.google.com
* Google News Canada: http://news.google.ca
* Google News UK: http://news.google.co.uk
I only mention this because when distributing my website marketing posts, I often wonder when they appear within Google News? 9 times out of 10, they are doing! In fact, they usually show up within 48 hours of being indexed from other top related websites.
How does Google News choose it's content?
At this time, it would appear that 'news centers' & 'pr release organizations' linked to your industry online are profiting from these search results. Once you think about it, wouldn't a press release be a form of media anyways? Possibly...
You'll realize that only a select few are providing all of the results, if you have a good look at the websites who provide the content within Google media. Again, it is possible that Google's news protocol remains in its infant stages and probably includes a lot of uphill battles to overcome.
It could be in Google's best interest to put together a staff of professionals in numerous areas to just accept articles/news submissions in order to keep the news source within the Google empire.
There's Just A Portion of Results Showing:
You will also observe a relatively small portion of actual search results coming up, while searching through the GN area. Http://Dailytravelogue.Com/News/Thc Internet Marketing Announces Google My Business For Dispensaries/0171133/ is a majestic database for more concerning the inner workings of it. Just a fraction of the percentage of results get listed within the GN search results compared to the same results within the normal search results available on Google's main page.
Only the parts on the left provide actual real-time media. These are: Leading Stories|World|Organization|Sci/Tech|Activities|Entertainment|Health. These links provide real-time results provided from legitimate information sources o-nline.
Google News Alerts - E-zine anybody?
When you consider it, you're offering Google your email address to get related articles to the search term delivered to your mailbox, how does this differ from any other regular newsletter? Are we going to start seeing Google Adwords within-the media signals? Will they con-sider giving large corporations the opportunity to market within their e-mail alerts as an one-time mailing! I really hope not.
More and more we're seeing less of the Google we once knew and came to love (A research bar with some good results). Since Google's IPO, the development group at GG are starting to launch programs on the web that are starting to resemble what we now know as the great Yahoo Portal.
Will there be any difference? Not likely.
One Great Position About Google News:
They've given the ability to you to customize your site to show what-ever news topics you want. Simply consider the right side for a button that says 'Customize this page New'! .. After you select this link a drop-down box shows you all the major issues you've shown inside your site. Simply click o-n the subject you intend to customize or remove. The most effective part of it all is the fact that you can click on 'Put in a custom part' and simply look for this issue you wish to have listed on your site.
Overall you are able to create a whole custom information page (author articles) that relate to your industry..
