Just an update to let you know I'm still around and doing fine...

Well, tomorrow the money from the inheritance opens up to use... I've been getting caught up with things I've needed to do for a while (home repair kind of stuff) with what was already available.   It feels good to not have to worry about when I can squeeze it into the budget.
Tuesday, I pay off all my loans except the house, opening up enough of the budget to start saving with my next check.   MAN, that just feels unreal!   I'm also going to call that electrician on Tuesday, figure out what's going on with the short before the time change comes, so I can actually get home with lights on at the door.   With creepy neighbor, it makes me really uncomfortable thinking he could be lurking in the bushes next to the house again.   Not that he would - I know I'm probably just being paranoid, but still, it would make me feel better to be able to see.   And I'm thinking about the kids (my granddaughter and friends) coming for Halloween.
Yesterday... I got to babysit my granddaughter for the first time!   I get to do this every other weekend now!   YAY!   And she made it so easy.... 9am we played with a farm animal puzzle (big wood pieces), 10am she napped while I worked on my crafts, 10:30 we played ball where she tossed it to me and I rolled it back... during which she stood up all by herself and starting walking without support!  11:30, she started digging at her ears, fell asleep while playing with the puzzle and my son's old books, and from then until 2:30, it was pretty obvious she's developed an ear infection... she spent the rest of the time dozing off and on in my lap as we rocked in the rocking chair.   She's so sweet!

So today, crazy dog that I'm taking care of goes home at 2:30 - which the cats will be MORE than ready for, lol... I get to finish the final spray coats on my crafts (hopefully doing it right this time), and I'm getting a pitchfork - no, not to use on my neighbor, lol, but so I can put all those pumpkin remnants into a composter I'm making today (can't burn them - smoking outdoors isn't even allowed with the drought this year).   And I don't know if I mentioned this, but after I pulled out the vines, I had a completely green lawn underneath!   COOL!  That's the first time since I've moved into the house that it was green at the end of the season!    I cut down the sunflowers - there's only about 10 seeds left to each head since the birds ate the rest, but it's enough to do it again next year.   I've decided to plant a tree at the end of my deck next year for some natural privacy (so creepy neighbor can't see), and plan to put the sunflowers all the way around the yard - 1. because it will prevent Bear from barking at the other neighbors, and 2. because that way I can enjoy the autumn colors since last year they faced the creepy neighbor, lol.  I'm also tempted to put up a white vinyl panel or two off the end of the privacy fence (in a reversed L) ... enhance my house a bit and block seeing my neighbor the rest of the way, but that's $80 per sheet, not including the work involved, so I'm gonna think about it a bit....
Next week, I get to start working on Christmas.  I might just use some of my extra paycheck money to get my basement craft "studio" fixed up (put up walls) and start creating just for fun.   And I already have my 2 favorite crazy dogs lined up to visit that week, lol.
And there's been some personality problems at work... The corporate manager came in with a goal sheet for me to sign that said I would increase my number by a certain amount (which was no problem), but then she started interfering with my work which is preventing me from getting my job done, and causing my numbers to drop.   So I went over her head about it... found out she's been targeting me, and when she was confronted by my boss, she created new policies that make things worse - Boss is letting her do it for now, but I'm documenting everything so I have proof it's her, not me.   I COULD just bite my tongue, reign in my temper and put up with it... but I've already been here 10 years and feel just a bit burnt out, especially when my tolerance for snipy remarks is tested when she sends them over our scrolling memo system (recent one was how we needed to EARN our paychecks - while our company is the LOWEST paying company in the area and we all know it).   So I've decided to stick it out until I get the real estate classes done, get my licensing, and then decide what to do next - real estate is slow here, so I might just ease into it part time or go into something different, like mortgages, foreclosure sales, property management, etc.   I don't like job changes, and LOVE what I currently do despite the manager, so I can already feel myself procrastinating.   But it's time.... AND, I learned so much with the issues I went through this past year, that I KNOW I'm strong enough and ready enough to take steps into the unknown....
Well, gotta run... Buddy (crazy dog) is tormenting the cats as they try to nap and the cats are protesting, lol... LATER!

Awesome!! So happy to hear you will get regular time with your granddaughter. What fun!
You may think I am crazy......... but if you strap a slice of regular braon onion on the pulse area of her wrists it can ease an ear infection. As insane as it sounds it really works. I used to do it for my daughter when she was young and I have even done it for myself.

Sorry was meant to read \'brown onion\' with skin an all. Good old home remedy that works.
