Just about nearly almost

Just one more course, a paper, a business plan and a couple of internship hours left.  57 days to graduation. Had the evaluation for the sports massage class tonight.  I'm still a little wired and giddy, hopefully will be tired enough soon to go to bed.  How was the exam?   SO glad you asked! He gave me bilateral frozen shoulder and bilateral quadriceps issues. I wasn't sure I could finish the first treatment within the hour, so I told him we'd see how much time I'd have to address the quads after the shoulders.  To my surprise, it only took about 30 minutes.  I was expecting 45 because so many muscles are involved - a lot of myofascial work which has to be done slowly to be effective.  The shoulder treatment is supposed to finish with light Swedish to the back - and he had several real issues that needed some work, so he agreed to let me carry on working out those knots for a while.  Finished the massage with light Swedish and compressions to the thighs. Feedback?  My body mechanics were a bit off so I ended up muscling some of the strokes instead of sinking my body weight into them.  Forgot one step of the shoulder treatment, some of the Swedish to the back felt a little too random to him.  But... he said he gave me that particular scenario in order to let me experiment a bit and integrate some of the skills I've been working on in internship and clinic settings as well as demonstrate "think on your feet skills."  Despite the flaws he still gave me an A. Whew!!!!! What I feel really good about was the comfort level I had in adding work to the massage that wasn't strictly dictated by the pathology treatments.  It means that (for the most part) I can trust my palpation skills to detect where the body needs the work. Now on to the very long list of all the other major tasks I have to accomplish before the February break (third week of the month).  Grades, Open House, more performances... ... and for those wondering about Mr. Third Grader - he continues to improve.  May still need the dangerous procedure, but there's hope now that maybe he won't.  Still thinking about him constantly...

You should be so proud of yourself B! Don\'t be so hard on yourself, you got an \"A\" and this time it wasn\'t for ass....!! LOL Big congratulatory hugs and kisses!! And anytime I am traveling anywhere near you, I plan on showing up so you can show me all you learned. You sound upbeat and determined, very good to hear...and I\'m glad our little friend continues to improve. You have accomplished so much with your determination, it\'s admirable. Things just sound like they are in your favor...ride the wave baby, ride it....

Wow 57 days left--how far you\'ve come! And yeah, it seems you\'ve really developed that knack you have for knowing where and how. The mechanics can always be perfected but I think you said it once...about people with a musical gift versus the ability to land a good grade. (You seem to be able to do both!)
I\'m so glad to hear about the third grader (I meant to ask but got sidetracked)
